• Q3 2020: Avalanche-X Grants have been announced. 7 teams have been funded to help build out the Avalanche ecosystem. Congrats to Avascan, VScout, aBlock, Magic (formerly Fortmatic), Halborn and Tesseract for being awarded grants!

• The first wave of staking rewards (those who staked for a two week period) have been distributed successfully.

• Avascan have launched their SCAN token. It can be earned through delegating AVAX to Avascan validators.

• The Avalanche Community Forum launched. Get involved & introduce yourself.

Staking (P-Chain)

• How to get “real-time alerts” from your Avalanchego Validator Node – written by Burcusan.

• Work is ongoing to index the P-Chain. After this is complete the explorer will be much more useful when interacting with the P-Chain.

• Stats:

  • 73% staking ratio (263,133,821 AVAX) – ↑ 7% from last week

  • ~11% current staking reward per year

  • 532 Validators – ↑ 24 from last week

Asset Layer (X-Chain)

• 159 assets have been issued on the X-chain – ↑ 40 from last week

Dapp layer (C-Chain)

• Work is ongoing to stabilise the C-Chain.

Stuff For Devs

• The Avalanche Postman collection (originally built by Gabriel Cardona) is now hosted on the Ava Labs Github. If you’re copying curl commands from docs & pasting in to a terminal then leveraging this Postman collection will have a massively positive impact on your workflow.

Ecosystem

• AvalancheHub launched a YouTube channel

• Ava Labs have evolved their brand identity to be more in line with their role in the Avalanche ecosystem moving forward

• Collin Cusce has some ideas about how Initial Subnet Offerings may become a compelling way to raise funds & bootstrap a network.

• Binance have disabled withdrawals for AVAX. Hopefully they will be resumed soon but consider using a different exchange for the time being if you want to stake after you buy. Ava Labs have reached out to help solve any issue.

• Protocoh released a map showing the approximate location of validator nodes globally. It’s very decentralised 🙂
