Free Mint NFTs on Avalanche

Published by AVAX on

Free mint NFTs are surging on Avalanche, with new projects launching daily and existing projects seeing impressive volume and floor prices. Here we’ll cover the key takeaways from some of the most popular collections lately.

Free Mint vs Paid Mint

Traditionally, NFT projects will launch with a paid mint and charge between 1-5 AVAX to mint an NFT, as seen with blue chip projects like Party Animals, AVAX Apes, and Chikn NFT.

Free mints are a new strategy to charge zero dollars to mint, so projects can quickly build a community of hundreds of people in a matter of days. These projects often proclaim to not have a roadmap, website, or discord. Funding a free mint project is tricky however, since an NFT project only earns royalty fees from secondary trading volume.
