Avalanche News

• AvalancheGo v1.0.6 released. The patch includes performance improvements and some quality of life improvements. For validators, the update is optional but encouraged.

• AvalancheJS v3.0.6 released. This includes changes so that when adding a validator/delegator you won’t stake locked tokens will be prioritised over unlocked.

• Kurtosis, an end-to-end testing platform dedicated to helping developers build antifragile technologies on Avalanche launched. Read the announcement here.

Staking (P-Chain)

• 4 minute tutorial by Avado showing how easy it is to run Avalanche with their offering.

• Stats:

  • 79% staking ratio (285,044,422.07 AVAX) – ↓ 1% from last week

  • ~10.27% current staking reward per year

  • 633 Validators – ↑ 2 from last week

Asset Layer (X-Chain)

• 371 assets have been issued on the X-chain – ↑ 39 from last week

DApp Layer (C-Chain)

• Short Twitter thread by Zafer Zeybek highlighting the steps for a user to get set up on the C-Chain.

Stuff for Devs

• avalanche-cli 1.0.5 released by hsk81

• Use this truffle-config.js script by Gabriel Cardona to connect Truffle to the Avalanche C-Chain. An in-depth tutorial is in the works but this should be enough for anyone with some Truffle experience.

• A standard for interoperable generic signed messages based on the Bitcoin and Ethereum format has been introduced.

Ecosystem

• Avalanche Joins the Blockchain Game Alliance

• Hummingbot Launches Liquidity Mining Program for AVAX

• Avascan are looking for people with over 150k AVAX for their the Trustless Lending Program.

• Protofire outline how and why they are serving as a relayer and manager for the Avalanche–Ethereum Bridge.

• A stealth project building on Avalanche has performed an airdrop, with potentially more to come. It looks like the project might include a new subnet.

• Request for DApp: an upvote market.

• A new #STABLEAct bill has been proposed in the US. It’s possible that permissioned subnets, e.g. a subnet only open to KYC’d validators, could help solve some of these issues, if something like this does come into law (I personally am hoping this does not pass).
