Avalanche News

• Sergey Nazarov from Chainlink confirmed that Chainlink Oracles will be coming to Avalanche.

• JellySwap, a cross chain DEX launched AVAX support

• Figment launched Avalanche DataHub – it offers direct access to Avalanche’s APIs via a highly available full node infrastructure.

• On Sept 28th some validators experienced started to experience issues which briefly impacted the network for ~ 1 hr, the issue was quickly solved. If you are a validator and are unaware of this event please check your node ASAP. Reach out on in the validator chat in Discord if you are having issues.

• Kevin Sekniki tweeted a high level overview of the event.

Staking (P-Chain)

• New AvalancheGo release – Mainnet Release Patch 1 : https://github.com/ava-labs/avalanchego/releases/tag/v1.0.1. This is not a mandatory update.

• Validators have been recommended to run node monitoring software to help avoid downtime. This tutorial can help you set up.

• Stats:

  • 66% staking ratio (238,723,206 AVAX) – ↑ 1% from last week

  • ~11% current staking reward per year

  • 518 Validators – ↑ 44 from last week

Asset Layer (X-Chain)

• 119 assets have been issued on the X-chain – ↑ 8 from last week

• NFTs have arrived on the X-Chain. @Sanghren has created a limited edition AVAX hat (AVHAT) collectable, check out the github repo if you’re interested in how it was done.

Dapp layer (C-Chain)

• NoTex, a global censorship resistant blogging and intellectual property platform, added support for Avalanche by deploying on the C-Chain.

Ecosystem

• The MoneyDance summit kicked off this week with a host of talks from well known figures in the industry. The next round of talks is on October 7, you can check out the agenda here.

• All MoneyDance videos are available on the Ava Labs youtube page. I recommend Olaf’s talk on Corporations from the future.

• Coin Bureau made an excellent intro to Avalanche explainer video

• Kevin DDoS’d himself by briefly becoming Kevin “giving away AVAX” Sekniqi. Avalanche handled the load fine.
