Crypto Legal Expert Lee Schneider Joins Ava Labs as First General Counsel
Schneider to spearhead legal strategy and government affairs for the project supporting development on Avalanche
Lee A. Schneider, a financial services and technology lawyer with extensive experience in blockchain, has joined Ava Labs as the firm’s first General Counsel. In this role, Schneider is responsible for the firm’s legal matters, as well as proactive government affairs strategy.
Ava Labs makes it simple to launch finance applications on Avalanche, a highly scalable blockchain platform for decentralized applications and enterprise blockchain deployments. The company has received funding from Andreessen Horowitz, Initialized Capital, and Polychain Capital, with angel investments from Balaji Srinivasan and Naval Ravikant.
Schneider is well-known in the fintech space as an early legal expert at the intersection of blockchains, cryptoassets, and regulation. Prior to joining Ava Labs, Schneider was General Counsel at Block.One, where he played a key role in that company’s token sale as well as several of its major projects. Before Block.One, he led the blockchain, FinTech and broker-dealer practices at two major international firms, where he worked on several of the most well-known blockchain projects. He co-founded Global Blockchain Convergence and is active with a number of other organizations.

Schneider holds a Juris Doctor degree from American University’s Washington College of Law and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of Michigan.
