Mexico’s Most Popular Soccer Club, Chivas, Celebrates 115th Anniversary with NFT Auction on Avalanche
Implementation developed with Avocado Blockchain will be the club’s first foray into NFTs.
The Club Deportivo Guadalajara (“Chivas”), Mexico’s most popular soccer club, is celebrating the 115th anniversary of its founding with a Non-Fungible Token (NFT) auction on Avalanche. Avocado Blockchain, a leading blockchain technology company in Mexico, is developing the implementation.
The NFT auction will begin on June 7, and will close a month later on July 9. The NFT will feature unpublished material curated and designed by the Club to the delight of Chivas fans and collectors in Mexico and beyond.
A percentage of the money raised in this auction will be donated to the Jorge Vergara Foundation, a non-profit association focused on the health of children and adolescents in Mexico and Globally.
In addition, fans can participate in an open design contest in Social Media to create an NFT concept that will be included in the series. The details about the design contest can be found here and the Club’s social media.
